Rev. Tom Langston, Pastor
Reverend Tom Langston has been preaching for 48 years and has been part of New Harmony Presbytery for 34 years. He has served on many different committees for NHP including the Long Range Planning Committee, Personal and Finance Committee and Guiding Council and he currently serves as Moderator of the Committee on Ministry. He has preached in 28 of the churches in the presbytery and retired from Marion Presbyterian Church in 2022 after 11 years serving as stated supply. He was the Director at the Palmetto Center, a residential center serving those with Alcohol and Drug abuse, for 25 years. He also served 5 years with Vocational Rehabilitation dealing with Pain Management. He has a wife Teresa, 5 children and 11 grandchildren (including 3 sets of twins!). He enjoys golf and tennis in his free time and lives in Murrells Inlet.
Erma Stackhouse, Office Administrator
Erma began working at Celebration Presbyterian in 2021 and has worked for over 25 years in church settings, mainly as Office Administrator. Erma enjoys interacting with members, visitors and staff while keeping the church office running smoothly. This includes publishing the bulletin, entering contributions, updating the website and any other task that she is called upon to perform. Erma’s family consists of 2 daughters; Debbie and Kim, a daughter-in-law; Jennifer, and 7 grandchildren. Erma is a member of Grand Strand Baptist Church in Myrtle Beach.
Robert A. Burkhardt, Director of Music
Music has always been an integral part of Bob’s life, and he firmly believes that God is responsible for providing opportunities for him to continue with music. Bob is a retired Elementary and Middle School principal. He began his career in education as a High School band director in New Jersey, where he met and married his lovely wife, Patrice. His church music experience began in New Jersey in 2002, when he became the Director of Music at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, which was a new church development. He established the Chancel Choir, which participated each week in the worship service. In addition, the choir performed three Broadway Musical Revues during his tenure there, which lasted for ten years. In 2011, he and Patrice retired from public education, and moved to Mount Joy, PA. They joined Chiques United Methodist Church, and shortly thereafter Bob became the Director of Music. He continued in that position until June 2020, when Patrice and Bob made the decision to permanently move to Myrtle Beach, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, the worship services at Chiques were only on FaceBook and YouTube, and Bob continued to record the music each week for their online service until May 2021. Bob and Patrice were thrilled to become members of Celebration Presbyterian Church in September 2021, and were also extremely happy to attend “live” church services once again. Bob enjoys working with Pastor Tom, the Choir, and everyone at Celebration as he looks to further develop and build the music program.
Susan Spraker, Director of Preschool
Susan Spraker has been the director of Celebration Presbyterian Preschool since 2007. She has over 30 years experience in Early Childhood Education. Susan and her husband, Tommy, live in Carolina Forest.
