The Shepards Table
The Shepherd’s Table Community Kitchen serves hot meals to hungry people in the Conway area Monday through Friday. Members of Celebration serve on several teams that cook meals once a month. Each team cooks once every three months. Meals are prepared from food donated to The Shepherd’s Table. Serving on a cooking team offers a great time for fellowship and teamwork for the cooks. The Shepherd’s Table is located at 1412-A Gamecock Avenue, Conway, SC 29526.
Helping Hand of Myrtle Beach
Helping Hand provides emergency food assistance, rent/utility assistance and resource referrals to those in need. Each Sunday we collect donations of non-perishable food items and travel-sized toiletries to support their efforts. Volunteer opportunities are also available Monday-Friday 8-4 pm to sort donations in their pantry, assist with client intake and pick up/deliver donations. SOX FOR SANTA/SNEAKERS FOR SANTA Mission Project
The Sox for Santa/Sneakers for Santa Project is a longstanding program at Celebration, providing socks and shoes to needy middle and high school students in our area. The congregation collects socks during the month of July and tennis shoes during the month of November. The socks and shoes are then delivered to the Salvation Army in early December.
Tuesday Quilters
Church members and friends with seamstress skills gather each Tuesday at 10:00 am at the church for fellowship and assembling quilts. The completed quilts are given to members who are recovering from illness or welcoming a baby, and to charities like Mercy Care, Presbyterian Communities, Hospice Grief Camps for children, and Fostering Hope.
Souper Bowl of Caring
Each year during the Super Bowl, the Men’s Luncheon Group of Celebration hosts a special collection drive of canned goods and monetary donations of money to support our two partner organizations (Helping Hand and Shepherd’s Table).
Relay For Life
Relay for Life Grand Strand is an annual event presented by the American Cancer Society to support the fight against cancer. Celebration sends a team of walkers who raise funds for the relay, and also hosts a welcome table at the event. It is a fun-filled and empowering opportunity to connect with the community and each other, honor survivors and those we’ve lost to cancer, and contribute to the fight to end cancer.
Habitat For Humanity
Habitat for Humanity is a nationwide non-profit that harnesses the power of faith, hope and service to build homes in our local community. Members of Celebration volunteer at Habitat build sites, mentor clients as they prepare for home ownership, and serve as advisors for the program.
