WEDDING POLICY

The congregation and staff of Celebration Presbyterian Church of Myrtle Beach extend to you our warmest congratulations and best wishes for your wedding. The wedding ceremony is a time for joy, commitment and love. It should be considered a high and holy time of worship and reverence as well as excitement! We rejoice that you are considering using our place of worship for your wedding.

The following policies are designed to promote the sanctity of the ceremony and provide logistical information to help make your wedding a special and meaningful time.

You are welcome to ask our minister to perform your wedding if s/he is available. You may also choose someone not affiliated with Celebration Presbyterian Church. However, this person must be an ordained minister and approved by the Church Pastor.

It is strongly recommended by the Pastor that an engaged couple participate in at least three sessions of premarital counseling either by our pastor or another person of your choosing. We will also be glad to recommend someone to perform these sessions.

You must have already purchased a marriage license to be signed by yourselves and the officiant on the wedding day. Please bring the marriage license to the rehearsal. The wedding will not be performed without it.

The Pastor and a Representative of the Church will work directly with the couple and wedding coordinator. The Church Representative will act as a liaison between the engaged couple and the Church in the following ways:

  1. Oversee the wedding rehearsal (usually scheduled for the night prior to the wedding). The couple, parents/family, attendants, ushers, and musicians must be present. The officiant’s presence is optional. Allow for approximately one hour for the wedding rehearsal.
  2. Provide information to the couple regarding church facilities, policies, and options for wedding set-up.
  3. Oversee wedding reception if held at the church. Celebration Presbyterian Church does not offer reception equipment or catering services but will allow the use of the building if you choose to have the reception on site. No smoking is allowed in the building. Alcohol is prohibited in or around the building.

The church sanctuary is equipped with an audio/visual system and can provide an audio/visual sound technician for the day of the event as well as the rehearsal.

Weddings will not be scheduled more than 18 months in advance (12 months in advance for non-members). No weddings will be scheduled before 10:00 a.m.

Member: $400        Non-Member: $900
50% of the fee and a refundable $200 damage deposit are required to secure the wedding date.
