Robert A. Burkhardt, Director of Music

Music has always been an integral part of Bob's life, and he firmly believes that God is responsible for providing opportunities for him to continue with music. Bob is a retired Elementary and Middle School principal. He began his career in education as a High School band director in New Jersey, where he met and married his lovely wife, Patrice. His church music experience began in New Jersey in 2002, when he became the Director of Music at Cornerstone Presbyterian Church, which was a new church development. He established the Chancel Choir, which participated each week in the worship service. In addition, the choir performed three Broadway Musical Revues during his tenure there, which lasted for ten years. In 2011, he and Patrice retired from public education, and moved to Mount Joy, PA. They joined Chiques United Methodist Church, and shortly thereafter Bob became the Director of Music. He continued in that position until June 2020, when Patrice and Bob made the decision to permanently move to Myrtle Beach, due to the COVID-19 pandemic. At that time, the worship services at Chiques were only on FaceBook and YouTube, and Bob continued to record the music each week for their online service until May 2021. Bob and Patrice were thrilled to become members of Celebration Presbyterian Church in September 2021, and were also extremely happy to attend "live" church services once again. Bob enjoys working with Pastor Tom, the Choir, and everyone at Celebration as he looks to further develop and build the music program.
