Rev. Dr. Thomas Dendy, Pastor

In 2011, Reverend Dendy accepted the call to serve as Designated Pastor at Celebration Presbyterian Church and in 2015 he was Called and Installed as Pastor of Celebration. Rev. Dendy is a third generation Presbyterian minister, having followed his father and grandfather into ministry. He grew up in Galax, Virginia. He holds an undergraduate degree in Sociology from Emory and Henry College, a Master of Divinity degree with honors from Erskine Theological Seminary, and a Doctor of Ministry degree from Columbia Theological Seminary. Rev. Dendy has served as Pastor of the Flat Rock and Varennes Presbyterian Churches in Anderson, SC, then as Pastor of Covenant Presbyterian Church in Spartanburg, SC which included a cross-cultural experience of ministry through a seven-week pulpit exchange with a pastor in Callander, Scotland. He next accepted the challenge of serving as organizing pastor of the newly-formed Presbyterian Parish of Southwest Virginia, a vital six-church cooperative ministry shared among the Cedar Bluff, Fincastle, Lebanon, Litz, Marys, and Thompson Valley Churches. Rev. Dendy then followed God’s call to serve as pastor of the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Laurinburg, NC, which also included serving students and faculty of St. Andrews College. 

Pastor Tom has three adult daughters, Mary Ellen (married to Aaron Dahlstrom), Anna, and Emma. He enjoys the blessing of his canine companion, Cassidy. His hobbies include beach combing, wood working, vocal and instrumental music, biking and walking, reading and sharing good times with friends and family.
